and in the phone icon that mely is talking about u might need to put 1(213)555-555 in that format to send a message to that person. try that also as well as what mely said.

on your buddy list theres a row of icons. Click on the one that looks like a phone. then select the person you want to send it to. if there number isnt there then your going to have to add it. click on the name then press ok and then enter the info. Some people are automatically signd in through there phone and you will see the phone icon next to their name.
